Hotels Near Delicias Station and Zaragoza Airport

Last reviewed: 24 October 2026

If your trip revolves around a train or a flight, the best hotel may not be the one beside the basilica. Zaragoza-Delicias is the city's main railway station, and the airport lies a short drive west of the centre. This guide explains what each location offers, how to reach the old town from them, and when it makes sense to stay close to the transport rather than the sights.

Zaragoza-Delicias station

Zaragoza-Delicias is the main station for high-speed AVE trains, long-distance services and regional lines. The fastest trains reach Madrid in roughly seventy-five to ninety minutes and Barcelona in around an hour and a half, which makes the city an excellent stop on a Spanish rail itinerary. The station sits in the Delicias district, west of the centre and about three kilometres from the Plaza del Pilar. Several modern hotels and apartments cluster in the surrounding streets, often at lower prices than in the old town.

Why stay near the station

  • Early departures: you can step out of your hotel and reach the platforms in minutes.
  • Value: rates here are often lower than near the main sights, which suits the guidance in our cheap hotels in Zaragoza guide.
  • Convenience: modern buildings frequently offer easier parking and lifts for luggage.
  • Rail day trips: regional services from the same station reach other Aragonese towns.

Getting from Delicias to the centre

The old town is not within comfortable walking distance, but city buses and taxis connect the station with the centre, and a taxi typically takes between ten and fifteen minutes depending on traffic. Delicias itself is residential rather than touristy, with local bars and bakeries and fewer souvenir shops. Visitors who want to be among the sights in the evening should compare it with the options in our overview of where to stay in Zaragoza.

Zaragoza airport

Zaragoza airport is roughly ten kilometres west of the city centre. Its route network is smaller than Madrid's or Barcelona's and consists mainly of domestic and European services, so many international visitors arrive through another airport and continue by train. A bus service has linked the airport with the city centre and the station, though routes and timetables change, so check the current schedule. Taxis are the simplest option when you arrive late, and car hire desks serve travellers planning day trips.

Is a hotel near the airport worth it?

Hotels close to the airport suit a very early flight, a late arrival or a stopover of a single night. For anything longer they are rarely the best choice, because the surroundings offer little to see and the centre is a journey away. Staying in Delicias or the city and travelling to the airport by taxi or bus usually gives a better experience for a similar cost.

Practical tips

Leave a generous margin for travel on departure day, especially during the Fiestas del Pilar, when streets and platforms are crowded. Our Fiestas del Pilar guide explains when to expect the busiest days. Confirm whether your hotel has twenty-four-hour reception if your train or flight is very early or late, and ask about luggage storage if your check-out is long before your departure. Note that the station area is quiet at night but sits close to major roads, so request a room away from the traffic if noise bothers you.

Arriving after a long journey

Travellers coming from far away, such as visitors from Singapore, often value a simple, comfortable room near the station for the first night, then move to the old town. Our Zaragoza travel guide for Singapore travellers explains typical routes and how to combine a hotel near the station with a longer stay.
